Arsenal £15M away from signing 22year-old talent offered to MAN UTD, As Arteta is set to get his Dream team to continue title challenge

Arsenal are reportedly £15m off meeting Wolves’ asking price for Pedro Neto, with the Gunners willing to pay £35m to sign the Portuguese international despite his £50m valuation.

According to Daniel Cutts of the Sun, the north London side are yet to make an official bid to sign the 22-year-old winger though talks have taken place between Arsenal and Wolves for Neto, who this summer has also reportedly been offered to Manchester United by his agent Jorge Mendes.

Like Arsenal, United are in the market for a winger this summer with Neto a prime candidate for many top clubs given the youngster’s record with Wolves in the Premier League as well as his age and international pedigree, however, the Red Devils have seemingly turned their attention to other targets.

With Arsenal reportedly making a winger their priority for the final week of the transfer window, Neto could be the club’s last signing from the summer market, yet it could be one that is met with huge fanfare from supporters and pundits.

Indeed, Neto is regarded by many as one of Wolves’ best players since arriving from Lazio in 2020, and with Arsenal looking for a versatile attacker with the potential to become a better player, the 22-year-old forward fits the bill perfectly for what Mikel Arteta wants in the market.

£50m might seem a steep fee for Neto this summer with the player likely being targeted by Arsenal as essentially a backup for the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, however, given the winger’s age and profile, the money could well be worth it for the Gunners this summer.

After all, Neto has the potential to add a lot of much-needed attacking threat from the bench that Arsenal are currently lacking, and with Nicolas Pepe set to leave for OGC Nice on loan, the Portuguese international is the perfect replacement for the club-record Gunners signing.
