Chelsea play Tottenham in the he first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday and both sides would be hoping for a win which could take them a step further to silverware.
Tottenham appointed former Chelsea and Inter Milan Antonio Conte after sacking Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this season and the North London side are hoping the Italian delivers them a trophy which has now eluded them for decades.
The Carabao Cup presents Tottenham with their most feasible route to silverware at the end of the season but Spurs would have to go past European Champions Chelsea, a side once coached by Antonio Conte and the Spurs manager is wary of the threat his former side possess and he believes they are more ready to win than Tottenham.
Antonio Conte: “At this moment, Chelsea is more ready than us to win. They won last season the UCL. I think we’ve a lot of space for improvement, to be a team with aspiration to win. Then for sure, we’ll do everything to reach the final of this trophy.”
Conte won league titles at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan before joining Tottenham few months ago and there’s a fresh sense of optimism amongst the Tottenham faithful with the Italian gaffer in charge.
