Chelsea midfield maestro Jorginho is one of those players whose future isn’t 100% certain at the moment as there remains a possibility that he could leave the London club this summer.
Jorginho whose Chelsea contract expires at the end of next season is considered an integral part of Thomas Tuchel’s team and since joining from Napoli in 2018, the Italian has gone on to play a major role in both the Europa League and Champions League triumphs of his side in 2019 and 2021 respectively and he capped off a brilliant 2021 by winning the Uefa Player Of The Year Award after doing the European treble for club and country.
The former Napoli man has seen his stock rise rapidly since last year and with his contract situation at Chelsea not being sorted out he’s presently attracting interests from several Serie A clubs who are looking to tempt the Italy international with a return to his country.
At the end of this season, Jorginho would have only one year left on his contract and there are no contract talks going on at Chelsea currently, leaving the door open to a potential exit in the summer.
Juventus are said to be interested in the midfielder and his agent João Santos has admitted that the player fancies a move to Turin if he doesn’t get an extension offer from Chelsea.
Joao Santos: “Our priority is the contract extension with Chelsea. If they don’t offer the renewal, Jorgi’s first choice will be the return to Serie A. Juventus? The most important clubs are interested in him.”Nico Schira via @AbsoluteChelsea
This is one everyone would love to keep an eye on as there are a lot of possibilities for both Jorginho and Chelsea in the summer.
