Arsenal has had legendary captains like Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Mesut Ozil, Laurent Koscielny and even, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Granit Xhaka. All these men had quality and leadership skills with them and their quality was undeniable.
The only problem is that a greater percentage of them were stripped of their captain armband and left the club in disgrace rather. The last of such players was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. At the end of the season, Arsenal captain, Alex Lacazette is most likely to leave the club due to personal reasons. He will likely be replaced by £50 million rated Gabriel Jesus. who is expected to be leave Manchester City following the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. Many fans are clamouring for Martin Odegaard to be made Arsenal captain when Lacazette departs the club at the end of the season. Martin Odegaard was not showing any leadership qualities when Arsenal were loosing the match against Newcastle United two days ago. He also seemed to have been so down even though he was the on-field captain. He lacked the charisma of Cesc Fabregas, Koscielny and van Persie. A captain is supposed to be motivating his team when they are down. Martin Odegaard can’t do that to his team at the moment so he shouldn’t be made captain.
