Missing Ontario Daycare Child Found Dead

On Thursday night, a child who had gone missing from an Ontario town was found dead.

On Thursday, just before 5:20 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were notified of a missing child from an address located in Hamilton Township, which is situated north of Cobourg.

On Friday, a police cruiser from the Ontario Provincial Police and police tape were spotted outside of Watch Me Grow Daycare located on County Road 45 in Baltimore, Ontario.

According to Greg Gotthelf, a resident of the area, a daycare worker ran across the road seeking assistance in the search for a two or three-year-old child on Thursday.

The search began, with individuals scouring their own backyards and beyond. According to the individual, the situation was not favorable as more police officers began to arrive.

According to Gotthelf, he observed the mother of the child in a state of extreme distress upon her arrival at the location.

According to the OPP, the child was discovered deceased at the location from which they were reported missing. The cause of death of the child remains unknown at this time.

In footage obtained by CTV News Toronto on Thursday, emergency crews were observed scouring a wooded area on the side of a busy country road just a few minutes north of Highway 401.

An investigation into the death has been initiated at the location where the child was discovered.

According to Pam Fessler, a neighbor, the community is in shock following the sudden death of the child.

On Thursday, May 25, 2023, the lifeless body of a child who had been reported missing was discovered in an Ontario town located to the east of Toronto.

She expressed, “Horrible, just horrible.” The interviewee expressed their concern for their two-and-a-half-year-old niece, stating that they could not fathom any harm coming to her.

The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is collaborating with the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch in an ongoing investigation.

According to the police, there is currently no danger to the safety of the public.
