9 Years Old Girl Found Dead After Drowning In Lake At Newport
According to police reports, a lake drowning incident claimed the life of a nine-year-old girl.
The Newport Police Department reported that they received a call regarding a child drowning at Newport Lake at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24. Officers were dispatched to the scene to investigate the incident.
The child was found unresponsive in the water by officers after conducting a search of the area.
According to the police, life-saving measures were administered to a child who was then transported to Unity Health. Unfortunately, the child was later pronounced dead.
According to police, the investigation is currently ongoing and no additional details are available at this time.
