45-Year-Old Husband Struck To Death By Wife At Their Home In Sweet Gum Trail

Arlington Police Department was called to investigate a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex located in the 3200 block of Sweet Gum Trail on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at around 5:58 a.m.

In a recent incident, a 42-year-old woman, identified as My Tran, contacted 911 and reported that she had struck her husband in the head with a hammer.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they located a 45-year-old man lying unresponsive in a bedroom. The individual was declared dead at the location.

Upon the arrival of officers, Ms. Tran was found seated outside the apartment and was promptly taken into custody. Investigators learned the victim asked her to come to the apartment to sign divorce papers.

Ms. Tran was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the victim once next of kin have been notified.
