The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department continue to investigate a 2-vehicle collision that occurred on Monday, May 22, 2023 at approximately 5:29 p.m.
The crash occurred between the 2 vehicles on State Route 55 at the intersection of Manchester Road.
A 2019 Toyota SUV being operated by a 41 years of age Poughkeepsie woman, collided with a 2003 Honda Motorcycle being operated by a 23 years of age Poughkeepsie man. The motorcycle operator was pronounced deceased on scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Dept. said in a news release.
The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department was assisted at the scene by members of the Arlington Fire Department, Mobile Life Support Services and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
State Route 55 Eastbound from the arterial to Manchester Road was closed for a crash investigation for approximately 4 hours.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Town of Poughkeepsie Police is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit at 845-790-4685.
