Tammey McWilliams Identified As Victim Found Dead In Great Falls

The identity of the deceased woman found in Great Falls on May 23, 2023 has been confirmed by Cascade County Sheriff-Coroner Jesse Slaughter as 51-year-old Tammey McWilliams.

According to Sheriff Slaughter, an autopsy was performed on Wednesday morning in Missoula which revealed that the cause of death was multiple stab wounds. The manner of death has been classified as homicide.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, police officers were called to the area surrounding Chowen Springs Park, specifically the 800 block of 17th Street South, in response to a reported “noise disturbance.”

Upon the arrival of officers, it was discovered that multiple individuals were attempting to depart from the southeastern section of the park. This area was also the location where the remains of McWilliams were discovered by law enforcement.

According to police, all individuals discovered at the location have been positively identified.

According to the GFPD, there is evidence and statements that suggest a physical disturbance occurred. However, as of Tuesday afternoon, no arrests have been made and detectives are still investigating the matter.

According to police, the recent attack does not seem to have been a random occurrence, and they have no reason to believe that the public is at an increased risk.

The authorities have stated that detectives are thoroughly investigating all possibilities before considering any potential charges. Ongoing investigation and evaluation of evidence is currently underway.
