
An Oliver Citywide Academy student is dead, and another is in custody after a shooting outside the school in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood on Wednesday morning.
According to Pittsburgh police, the incident took place on Wednesday about 7:25 a.m. The male victim was discovered outside the school and was carried there, where he later passed away.
Police saw a person running while carrying a gun. The police detained that suspect.
The events that preceded the shooting are unknown.
Oliver Citywide has canceled all of its classes for the day. Only a few pupils were there at the time of the incident; however, those who were still en route were diverted to Manchester Elementary, where they would be reunited with their families.
Police have shut down Brighton Road while they look into it.
