Michael Barch And Karys Seipel Identified As Victims Of Fatal Collision In Clearcreek Township
The identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in a collision that occurred in Clearcreek Township on Saturday evening have been released.
On Wednesday, the victims of the accident were identified by the Ohio State Highway Patrol as Michael Barch, aged 20 and hailing from Centerville, and Karys Seipel, aged 19 and from Springboro.
At approximately 11:35 p.m., a crash was reported at the intersection of State Route 48 and East Lytle Five Points Road. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and Clearcreek Township crews were dispatched to the scene.
An INDOT worker was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital after being struck by a vehicle.
According to an initial investigation, a collision occurred between a Kia and a Chevrolet at the intersection of SR-48 and Lytle Five Points Road. Mary Huelsman, 57, from Bellbrook, was driving the Kia southbound on SR-48, while the Chevrolet, driven by Barch, was traveling eastbound on Lytle Five Points Road.
A wooden utility pole was struck by two cars that veered off the right side of the road.
According to reports, Huelsman was transported to Kettering Health for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
At the scene, Barch and Seipel were pronounced dead.
At this time, the crash is still under investigation.
