A neighbor dispute lead to a triple shooting in Johnston Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
On Ligian Court, the shooting occurred at about 7:30 a.m.
According to Chief Mark Vieira, on Wednesday they responded to a residence on that street following two 911 calls reporting gunfire in the vicinity.
Police discovered three shooting victims when they arrived, according to Vieira. The third, a 15-year-old girl, was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the other two perished.
James Harrison, the suspect, was reportedly absent from the site when police arrived. Police claimed to have sent a BOLO to neighboring departments at that point.
According to authorities, Harrison was later shot and died on I-295 at the Johnston-Cranston border.
According to Vieira, the suspect had no prior convictions in Rhode Island.
There is no public threat, according to the police.
This incident is being looked into by the Attorney General’s Office and State Police of Rhode Island.
