Investigation continues as 55-year-old Kenton Youngbear-Lovan is identified as victim in fatal Billings, MT motorcycle accident

An individual from Billings who perished over the weekend in a motorbike accident in the city has been named.

According to Valerie Juhl, a deputy coroner for Yellowstone County, Kenton Youngbear-Lovan, 55, died from blunt trauma. The Saturday evening collision is the second deadly motorcycle accident to take place near Fourth Avenue North and North 24th Street this year. The investigations into both collisions will be handled by the Billings Police Department.

According to BPD Lt. Matt Lennick, Youngbear-Lovan was going south on North 24th Street and making an attempt to turn onto Fourth Avenue North. The turning motorcycle was struck at the same moment by a motorcycle traveling east on Fourth Avenue North. The motorcycle’s rider, who was traveling east, was taken to the hospital with serious wounds. Youngbear-Lovan was pronounced deceased by emergency personnel on the site.

Lennick stated that although the crash investigation is still ongoing, speed is thought to be a contributing factor. Youngbear-Lovan’s death was found to be an accident by the coroner.
