Edwin Perez Identified As Victim Of Fatal Motorcycle Crash In I-91 in West Springfield

The identity of the motorcycle operator who passed away in a collision on I-91 in West Springfield on Tuesday has been disclosed.

In West Springfield, Edwin Perez of Chicopee passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a crash on the northbound side of I-91 beyond Exits 10A and 10B, as reported by Massachusetts State Police Spokesperson David Procopio. Perez was 24 years old.

The increasing number of motorcycle fatalities is raising concerns about safety.

According to State Police, a motorcycle was the sole vehicle involved in a crash. However, two distinct multi-vehicle crashes involving a combined total of five vehicles occurred in the same vicinity shortly after 7 a.m.

According to reports, three individuals were transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after sustaining minor injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is being conducted by multiple agencies, including Troop B of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Detective Unit for Hampden County.
