Disgraced former performer Rolf Harris has passed away at the age of 93. Harris, who was convicted for a series of indecent assaults on girls, has died.
In 2014, after a trial, Harris was convicted of committing a number of indecent assaults spanning from 1968 to 1986. As a result, he was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison. In 2017, following his release from prison, he did not offer an apology to his victims. Before his misdeeds were revealed, Harris was a popular family entertainer in the United Kingdom.
According to the death certificate registered on Tuesday, he passed away on May 10 at his residence in Bray, Berkshire due to neck cancer and frailty associated with old age.
In a statement released by his family, it has been confirmed that Rolf Harris passed away peacefully while being surrounded by his loved ones. The family also stated that he has been laid to rest. In a recent development, the Court of Appeal has denied the request made by the concerned individual to overturn the remaining 11 convictions. According to reports, the victims included two teenage girls and a friend of one of the girls.
For over half a century, Rolf Harris had been a prominent figure in the entertainment industry in both his home country of Australia and in Britain. However, his offenses were eventually brought to light. At the age of 21, he made his way to London in 1952.
From there, he hosted a variety of shows, including children’s programs, animal series, and art shows. In 2006, a picture of the late Queen was created by Harris to commemorate her 80th birthday.
Throughout his career, he was honored with an OBE, MBE, and CBE, in addition to receiving a Bafta fellowship. However, following his convictions, he was stripped of these medals.
During his sentencing, it was revealed in court that he was referred to as a “sinister pervert” who leveraged his celebrity status to gain access to young women and girls.

For a period of three years, Harris was incarcerated at Stafford Prison located in Staffordshire.
