Nicola D. Harrell Identified As Columbia Woman That Die, Two Children In Critical Condition After Crash On Trenholm Road

In Columbia, a crash has resulted in the death of one woman and left two children in critical condition.

According to the Richland County Coroner’s Office, the victim has been identified as 31-year-old Nicola D. Harrell of Columbia.

Columbia Police say the collision happened Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of South Beltline Boulevard and Trenholm Road and involved three vehicles.

As per the police report, the first vehicle was heading towards the south on Trenholm, while the second vehicle was stationary at the intersection of the roads. Meanwhile, the third vehicle was attempting to take a left turn onto Trenholm.

According to the police, a vehicle attempting to turn onto Trenholm did not yield and collided with vehicle one, which subsequently hit vehicle two.

According to officers, vehicle three had a total of seven people. According to reports, a female passenger in the vehicle involved in the accident has died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.

According to reports, two children who were present at the scene were transported to the hospital for medical attention. According to police, they were still in the hospital as of Wednesday morning.

Everyone else in that vehicle, as well as the other two vehicles involved, were not seriously wounded.

According to Columbia Police, the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
