Tamieka White Identified As Victim Watching Dog That Killer Her And Attacked HerChild
Following an attack by a dog they were monitoring, a mother lost her life and her small kid suffered injuries.
Before 8 o’clock in the evening, police were called to the 1700 block of Forsythia Drive for a report of an aggressive animal.
A dead adult female and an injured 8-year-old child were found at the scene by the arriving police officers.
The 8-year-old was rushed to the hospital to receive non-life-threatening medical attention for his injuries.
Tamieka White, 46, has been identified as the woman by the Marion County Coroner.
At the time of the attack, White was allegedly caring for three dogs for another individual at her house.
The dog that attacked was the “only one not confined in the residence” and the only dog that attacked. When IMPD arrived, they shot the dog.
According to police, the dog’s owner has been located. At this time, no charges have been brought.
According to police, Animal Control was contacted at the same site three days earlier, on May 6, regarding a report of two loose dogs. Authorities were told by a man at the house that he was keeping an eye on the dogs for the dog owner. Regarding that report, no new information has been made public.
IMPD is requesting that anyone with information get in touch.
