Justina Stubbe Identified As Victim Brutally Slain In Dribe-By Shooting Out Of House Party, Chico
Justina Stubbe was brutally slain in a drive-by shooting outside of a house party in Chico at 3:26 a.m. on a Saturday.
The incident also hurt five additional victims, who were all between the ages of 17 and 21.
Billy Aldridge, the chief of the Chico Police Department, told persons, “We have a couple of people identified as people of interest.”
We are pursuing all investigation leads, making accurate identification, and anticipating success by day’s end.
The cops were called at 2:56 am when someone allegedly displayed a pistol at the house party.
“This was a large party that got out of hand,” Aldridge said. “We responded after hearing rumors that there were firearms at the party and were able to break up the gathering.”
When the cops showed up, they ordered everyone inside the party to leave. They next detained a suspect for allegedly having a gun and firing it carelessly at a different gathering.
Aldridge believes that after partygoers learned the gunmen were carrying firearms, they were asked to leave.
“The person who was living there saw they had weapons on them and asked them to leave,” the speaker continued. They were asked to leave the party because they had handguns on them, and at this moment it doesn’t seem to be connected to any gang activities or anything else.
He stated, “I think this was fairly isolated and had nothing to do with anyone who was shot in particular. “Everybody just so happened to be coming out and leaving [when they were shot].”
It is a city with a university. There are gatherings everywhere. The shooters, in my opinion, were not students. Just neighborhood thugs who regularly commit crimes and carry weapons.
In the incident, four persons were hurt, but they are all currently stable. They were a female, age 17, three boys, ages 18, 20, and 21.
After the officers had left, “these people came by and started firing off rounds” around 30 minutes later.
