Michael Scott Brase Identified As Victim Of Multiple Gunshot Wounds Outside His Home

The St. Paul man who was fatally shot outside of his home on Saturday has been identified by officials.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Michael Scott Brasel passed away due to multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the examiner’s report, homicide has been identified as the manner of death.

On Saturday morning, a neighbor in the Chilcombe Avenue area contacted St. Paul police via 911 to report a shooting incident. As per the police department’s statement, the call was made just before 7:30 a.m.

Upon the arrival of the officers, Brasel was discovered to be suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The individual was transported to HCMC and was later declared deceased.

According to family and friends of the Brasel, the man reportedly witnessed an individual “rummaging through his wife’s car.” A shooting incident occurred when he stepped outside.

The investigation into the death of Brasel is currently ongoing.
