Tim Leavell Cook, 27, of Fresno, Faces six years in Prison for Trafficking a Minor in Seaside, Monterey County.

District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni of Monterey County stated that a 27-year-old entered a guilty plea to charges of trafficking a minor for sexual exploitation and providing marijuana to a minor older than 14 years old.

Tim Leavell Cook, age 27 and a resident of Fresno, will be required to register as a sexual offender, according to the district attorney’s office. At his June 9 sentencing, he faces a maximum prison term of six years and four months.

On December 5, 2022, Seaside Police received a complaint about a young woman who was improperly dressed for the weather and crying. She requested a phone because she was unfamiliar with the area and feared becoming stranded, according to Pacioni.

The victim was identified as a 17-year-old from Fresno who had gone missing. Cook brought her to the area so she could perform sexual activities for money. Pacioni stated that this resulted in Cook receiving the entire sum.

The police determined that this wasn’t the first time Cook had brought the victim to Seaside for this purpose. Pacioni stated that Cook was placing online advertisements offering the victim sexual services in Monterey County.
