Several Victims Identified In Deadly Shooting At Allen Outlet Mall; Shooter Confirmed Dead
On Saturday afternoon, an Allen outlet mall was the site of a deadly shooting, prompting the response of multiple law enforcement agencies.
According to the Collin County sheriff, there are several victims, including children. According to the sheriff, the shooter has been confirmed dead at the scene.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., a shooting took place at the Allen Premium Outlets situated at 820 W. Stacy Road, as per reports.
In a public safety alert, the city of Allen has cautioned residents to avoid the area.
According to their account, the shooter was reportedly dressed entirely in black.
In response to the shooting incident, Governor Greg Abbott released a statement expressing his condolences to the people of Allen, Texas. He stated that their hearts are with the affected community during this unimaginable tragedy.
According to Abbott, he is currently communicating with Mayor Ken Fulk of the city of Allen, DPS Director Steven C. McCraw, North Texas law enforcement, and city officials. The purpose of these discussions is to ensure that all necessary assistance and resources are promptly deployed, including DPS officers, Texas Rangers, and investigative resources.
U.S. Representative Keith Self, who represents Texas’s 3rd congressional district encompassing Collin County, has also released a statement on his social media pages.
Self expressed deep sorrow in a tweet, stating, “The shootings that occurred at the Allen Premium Outlets today have left us devastated.” The individual expressed that their thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and law enforcement present at the scene.
According to Self, the Allen Police Department has “full control of the scene.”
