25-Year-Old Richmond Woman Found Dead Of Multiple Gunshot On Side Of Old Williamburg Road

Sheriff’s deputies in York County discovered a woman’s body on the side of Old Williamsburg Road early on Saturday morning, and their investigation revealed a crime that originated in Richmond.

A representative for the York Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said that this incident started at about 6:30 in the morning when a jogger on Old Williamsburg Road near the Riverwalk Townhouses and Colonial Parkway entrance noticed a body by the side of the road and dialed 9-1-1.

Sheriff’s deputies discovered a woman’s body there who had been shot multiple times when they got there.

The victim has been identified as a 25-year-old Richmond woman, says the spokeswoman. She was shot and died at the scene in York County where her body was discovered, they discovered after conducting their investigation. She was reportedly taken from Richmond by force early this morning.

In order to identify and contact the victim’s next of kin and speak with any potential witnesses to the crime, investigators from the York Poquoson Sheriff’s Office are currently in the City of Richmond working with the Richmond Police Department.

The sheriff’s office has not yet disclosed any leads on potential suspects or causes.

When they were finished with their investigation of the crime scene, that portion of Old Williamsburg Road was reopened.
