Following a collision on Mulford Road on Thursday, a 43-year-old lady was declared dead and an 80-year-old man is in critical condition.
Around 5:00 p.m., the collision happened in the 1800 block of North Mulford Road, according to Rockford Police.
Veronica Cortez was identified as the victim by the Winnebago County Coroner. She passed away from her wounds, the police reported on Friday. The cause of death was listed by the coroner as blunt abdominal and chest trauma.
While conducting their investigation, police closed the whole stretch between Spring Creek and Guilford Road.
