Friday, sheriff’s officials in South Florida reported that a man fatally shot a 12-year-old boy and wounded another man before turning the pistol on himself inside a gas station.
According to a news release, Broward Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a 7-Eleven in Dania Beach shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday.
According to investigators, both the victim and perpetrator died at the site. The release stated that a third person was transported to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. A condition report was not available immediately.
Witnesses told investigators that the suspect fired shots at a male in a vehicle parked outside the gas station. According to the release, he then entered the station and shot the child before turning the gun on himself.
The identities of the suspect and victims have not been made public. The police are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
