Although witnesses were able to report the license plate, police say the driver fled the scene. He was taken into custody close by, and a short while later, an SUV was seized.

According to the police, Jayne had just been dropped off at the parking lot entrance for a school theater performance on Wednesday night. She was struck as she crossed the driveway.
