Daniel Robert Swope Identified As Victim Of Suspicious Death At East Third Street

According to a press release from the Casper Police Department on Friday, the victim of the suspicious death, which has now been declared a homicide, has been identified by the Natrona County Coroner’s Office. The incident occurred in the 700 block of East Third Street.

The Natrona County Coroner, James Whipps, has identified 48-year-old Daniel Robert Swope. Whipps conducted an autopsy and has informed Swope’s next of kin.

According to the Police Department, the manner of death has been classified as a homicide.

The cause of death was not disclosed by the Department.

The ongoing investigation is being aided by various agencies, including the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.

According to the Department, the incident is currently contained and there is no apparent danger to the public. The individual stated that they will furnish further information as the investigation progresses.

At approximately 5 p.m., the investigation was initiated. On Tuesday, authorities were called to 714 E. Third St. where they discovered a body. The police worked late into the night on the case. A blockage was reported on the street between South Grant and South Lincoln streets.
