A male from Craighead County was arrested for using a crossbow to shoot a person.
The Craighead County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 487 Craighead 991 Road on Tuesday, May 5 for a person who had been wounded in the back with a crossbow, according to the probable cause affidavit.
When deputies arrived, they observed Robert Bailey running out of the mobile home’s rear door.
The deputies pursued Bailey throughout the residence before apprehending him.
Bailey subsequently confessed to shooting the other individual, stating that he had disliked the victim for years.
Bailey shot the victim after telling deputies he was taking his crossbow outside when the victim made a “off-the-wall” remark.
Wednesday, May 8th, Bailey was accused with first-degree battery.
The next court appearance is scheduled for August 18.
