
The victim in question is Andrew Thomas Henges. A college student from Texas has reportedly died after falling from a balcony in Louisiana, as confirmed by officials.
A 19-year-old named Andrew Henges from Beaumont reportedly passed away while attending an event.
As per the New Orleans Police Department, a man fell from a balcony on Loyola Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning. The victim was reportedly leaning over the railing when the incident occurred.
The NOPD has stated that the fall was accidental. As per the NOPD, the young man was declared dead at the location. Texas A&M’s Delta Tau Delta fraternity paid tribute to Henges on social media, describing him as “humble, selfless, loving, strong, and proud.”
According to the fraternity, they expressed deep sorrow over the passing of their member, Andrew. However, they also acknowledged the positive impact he had on their community by leaving behind cherished memories. As per the school’s Facebook page, Texas A&M concluded its classes on Tuesday. PEOPLE’s request for comment from the university remains unanswered.
Henges was reportedly, who was studying biology at Texas A&M, graduated from Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont in 2022. According to Delta Tau Delta, Henges was described as soft-spoken but possessing a heart of gold. The fraternity also noted that he had a deep concern for others.
According to a statement released on Instagram by the fraternity, the passing of the individual in question is deemed to be an incredibly tragic event. However, the fraternity emphasized that the individual’s influence on both the members of the fraternity and those outside of it was significant and far-reaching.
As per the obituary of Henges, a funeral service is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon at Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaumont. On the day prior, a gathering of loved ones is scheduled to take place at Broussard’s funeral home.
