Shooting in Polk County apartment result to Tragic Deaths of Mother and 3 Kids

On Tuesday night, a shooting at an apartment complex resulted in the tragic deaths of a mother and her three children. Lake Wales police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

During an early Wednesday news conference, the police reported that they had received a medical call from the Sunrise Apartments on Dawnlight Drive at approximately 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers reported discovering a deceased mother and her three children – two adults and one juvenile – who had all suffered gunshot wounds. According to police, the ages of the victims are 40, 21, 17, and 11.

According to detectives, it is believed that Al Joseph Stenson, who is 38 years old, was responsible for the deaths of all four victims at approximately 5 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

An arrest warrant for Stenson on four counts of first-degree murder has been obtained by detectives. Officials are currently working to take him into custody after he was located.

The motive behind the murders remains a mystery, however, it has been confirmed that Stenson was acquainted with the victims.

According to officials, the names of the victims will not be disclosed in compliance with Marsy’s Law.
