MailOnline can now confirm that the victim of a daylight stabbing while talking to her grandma on the phone was a fervent Christian who ‘wanted to make the world a better place’ and the founder of a charity that assisted sickle cell disease patients.

Just after 4 p.m. on Bank Holiday Monday, Johanita Dogbey, 31, was strolling along Stockwell Park Walk in Brixton when she is thought to have been attacked by a man who approached her from behind. She was going home for a birthday celebration after going out to get a gift.

Her family praised the charity worker Friday night, calling her “beautiful” and “kind-hearted.”

We have no words at this time, her father Yao, who was holding back tears as he spoke to MailOnline. My kid was lovely and compassionate. I’m sorry, but I’m at a loss for words.

‘We are trying to understand what has occurred and are absolutely broken,’ Ms. Dogbey’s younger brother Maurice said. As far as we are aware, my sister and the attacker had no connection. To receive a complete update, we must first meet with the police.

“This entire situation has devastated us.” For us, it’s too much.

She was a truly wonderful girl who loved God and only wanted to improve the world, according to a family acquaintance. That someone who did so much good was slain in this way is awful.

According to eyewitnesses, her father Yao and other family members kneeled down and began praying Monday at the police cordon close to the scene of her death.

When Ms. Dogbey was attacked, she was her route to a birthday party at the apartment she shared with her mother, father, brother, and sister.

Following a phone call from the grandmother, eyewitness Jacqueline Demontague reported seeing the woman’s distraught father rushing to the scene shortly after 4 o’clock. She claimed: “She was talking to her grandmother on the phone when she started screaming and shouting.”

I can’t even begin to fathom how horrible it must have been for her and her grandmother. The grandma called the woman’s father, who arrived to the site right away.

‘I am in continuous contact with detectives heading the investigation into this cruel attack, and my thoughts continue to be with the woman’s family and friends as they come to terms with this awful news,’ said Detective Chief Superintendent Seb Adjei-Addoh, local policing commander for Lambeth. We shall do every effort to assist them during this incredibly trying moment.

“I understand that the neighborhood will be suffering worry and great concern, and we have additional officers out in the neighborhood to address concerns and be a visible presence.

“My police neighborhood policing teams have visited nearby community centers and businesses to take concerns into account and to make sure we are having the appropriate conversations with locals at this time,” a police official said.

“I would also ask people to share anything they feel could help the detectives who are looking into it.”
