18-year-old Kaylie Ladd dies, 3 others injured, after SUV crashes into recycling truck in New Sharon


In New Sharon, a tragic incident occurred on Tuesday when an SUV, driven by the victim’s mother, collided with a recycling truck. The victim, an 18-year-old, lost her life in the accident.

According to Maine State Police, a 39-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Suburban collided with an Archies Recycling truck on Farmington Falls Road at approximately 1:20 p.m. The truck was stationary and collecting recyclables at the time of the incident.


According to police reports, a woman was driving with her three children, including 18-year-old Kaylie Ladd, a toddler, and an infant.

Following the crash, Ladd passed away.
According to sources, the driver and her two other children sustained minor injuries in the incident and are anticipated to make a full recovery.


The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
