The victim of an overnight car accident in Jefferson County has been named as Matthew Robert McClellan of Center Point, Alabama.
Early on Tuesday morning, a single-vehicle collision near Adger claimed the life of Matt McClellan, 35.
According to accounts, about 12:20 a.m. on Tuesday, McClellan was driving a car on Smith Camp Loop near Johnson Camp Road when, for an unknown cause, the car left the road and struck a stand of trees.
McClellan suffered severe force trauma injuries and was pronounced deceased at the site.
Investigations into what caused the accident are still ongoing.
