Killingly High School student killed in Monday night car accident on I-395

The Killingly School District community has received a letter from Killingly Public Schools’ Superintendent Bob Angeli addressing the death of a student who was involved in a car accident on I-395 North near Exit 29 (Route 14-A) on Monday night.

“As I am sure many of you are already aware, I am writing to confirm for you the sad news that a member of the Killingly High School Class of 2023 passed away yesterday after being in a car accident on I-395,” Bob Angeli wrote in a statement.

“District counselors, social workers, and administrators spent the day at the high school supporting our students and staff. We will continue to have additional support available at KHS over the next several days to provide assistance as needed Parents/Guardians, please contact the school if you would like to check in with your child.”

“While this tragic and sudden loss will impact all of us, our hearts go out to the family, friends, teachers, administrators, and other staff members who had close ties with the student.”

“With the parent’s consent, we will share additional information as it becomes available.”

There are no further details released concerning the circumstances surrounding the crash.
