Jeffrey Myers Lacortiglia Arrested Suspect In The Murder Of His Wife Blanca Lacortiglia
North Carolina resident Jeffrey Myers Lacortiglia traveled more than 500 miles in almost eight hours before telling his mother he had killed his wife. On Sunday, April 30, Jeffrey Myers Lacortiglia was taken into custody in Ohio.
The 43-year-old man allegedly shot and killed his wife at Spring Lake, North Carolina, before coming into the Hamilton Township Police Department to inform officers of the crime. He allegedly informed Ohio police that the body would be found in their master bedroom, according to Law & Crime.
The Hamilton Township Police Department in Ohio contacted the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina on April 30 to validate Lacortiglia’s description of the incident.
The age of Jeffrey Myers Lacortiglia is 43.
Police from the Tarheel State visited the defendant’s home the same day to check on his welfare but got no response after knocking twice.
He was later arrested as a suspect in his wife Blanca Lacortiglia’s murder. Lacortiglia then gave the Ohia police the code for the garage, and the deputies went inside to start searching. The police believed the murder story was true after finding Blanca Lacortiglia dead on a bed inside their Swain Street residence. The 37-year-old woman’s body was found on the bed next to a weapon and a firearm magazine.
The words “I’m sorry. “I adore you” were written in a scary letter that deputies found on Lacortiglia’s counter. The alleged murderer traveled across numerous states after the fatal occurrence before settling in Ohio, where his mother lived. After the murder, he told his mother that he was unsure of what to do. She convinced him to turn himself in to the police.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for Lacortiglia when Blanca’s body was found. Lacortiglia is in the custody of Hamilton Township Police, the sheriff of Harnett County, North Carolina, said in a press statement, adding,
“No further information will be given at this time. The alleged killer’s father is temporarily housing the couple’s 8-year-old son in Ohio. The defendant is being held without bond at the Warren County jail, according to Law and Crime.
