In an effort to find the person and the car he was last seen driving, the Vermont State Police is conducting an investigation into a missing persons case in the Sunderland neighborhood.

John R. Joy, 91, of Randolph, was last seen driving a 2018 silver Toyota Prius with a Vermont license plate ETG 995 around 10:56 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, near the Orvis store on Conservation Way in Sunderland. Mr. Joy has dementia, and the last time anyone saw him, he was disoriented and lost. He may have attempted to travel to Bennington Hospital to visit a relative, but he never arrived and hasn’t been seen since, according to investigators.
