
According to San Antonio police, a man was killed after being hit by a train on the east side on Friday night.
Stephon Lafond-Collins, 29, was identified as the victim. According to the police, a Union Pacific train’s conductor and engineer attempted to halt the train upon spotting an object on the tracks while traveling north near East Crockett and Onslow. However, their efforts were unsuccessful. The victim was found underneath the train and 911 was called.
According to reports, the San Antonio Fire Department responded to the incident and attempted to provide assistance. However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, officers from the east patrol and Union Pacific police responded to the location.
