
Updates on two shootings that occurred in Kentwood late last week have been provided by the police.
The initial incident took place on Friday, April 28 in front of Woodland Creek Apartments. According to the Kentwood Police Department (KPD), a 49-year-old man from Kentwood was admitted to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. An individual of interest was detained.
According to reports, two individuals got into a disagreement before the shooting started. Both of them were acquainted.
Since then, according to police, Dimario Parker, 37, has been charged with assault with the intent to kill, carrying a hidden weapon, and felony firearms. While the victim is still receiving treatment, he is still housed at the Kent County Correctional Facility.
The Affordable Suites of America was the scene of a second shooting early the following morning. According to KPD, a 41-year-old male died. Edgar Hernandez-Sandoval has since been recognized as the man.
According to authorities, the suspect, 35-year-old Jerry Kidd Jr., was charged on Monday with both felony firearms and open murder. They claim that a scuffle preceded the shooting. Kidd Jr. is still being detained in the Kent County Jail.
