The suspect, Jamie Lee Komoroski – The couple was leaving their South Carolina wedding celebration when a drunk driver allegedly hit their golf cart, killing the bride and badly wounding the husband.
At 10 p.m., Samantha “Sam” Hutchinson, 34, was seen leaving the party while beaming from ear to ear. She and her husband, Aric Hutchinson, were being driven from their wedding location in Folly Beach on Friday when a drunk motorist rear-ended their golf cart.
The bride’s mother claimed on a GoFundMe website describing the couple as accident victims, “I was handed Aric’s wedding ring in a plastic bag at the hospital, five hours after Sam placed it on his finger and they read each other their vows,” She declared, “Aric has lost the love of his life.
Ben Garrett and Brogan Garrett, two family members of the groom, who also sustained injuries in the collision, were accompanying the newlyweds in the golf cart, according to Hutchinson’s mother.
According to the Facebook page, the golf cart “was tossed over 100 yards and rolled multiple times. According to the GoFundMe page, the car was “struck from behind by a drunk driver traveling 65 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.” Aric fractured several bones and sustained a brain injury, according to his mother.
He has had two reconstructive surgeries, and despite the fact that much of his face is injured, he is currently in serious condition in the ICU. One of the passengers, Ben, is also in critical condition, according to the post.
The age of Jamie Lee Komoroski is 25.
The driver of the vehicle, Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, was detained and charged with DUI resulting in death and reckless murder. Although Komoroski’s blood test results are not yet available, authorities claim that she was traveling at 65 mph when she struck the golf cart.
To assist in covering the bride’s funeral costs as well as the groom and his family’s hospital costs, Hutchinson’s mother established a GoFundMe page. The couple resided in South Carolina and the groom’s native state of Utah, according to GoFundMe. The bride is originally from North Carolina.
Samantha’s employer, Huntersville, North Carolina-based XenTegra, a global IT supplier, revealed her passing on LinkedIn and referred to her as a “integral member” of their staff. She exuded a light that shone brilliantly on everyone she came into contact with.”
“To put it simply, Samantha brought an abundance of joy and laughter to the workplace,” the company remarked, pointing out that she was a responsible and detail-oriented worker who went above and beyond. But Samantha was a wonderful person in addition to her professional accomplishments.
“Our team was able to share in her excitement over the last several months as she shared photos and intricate details about her upcoming wedding,” the business said. “For the rest of our lives, we will remember Samantha’s smile, laughter, and commitment to her job, friends, and family.”
