
A man who was rescued after being trapped in caves at an indoor adventure center has passed away due to his injuries. The man was a father.
According to the family of Carl O’Keeffe, he passed away at 3pm on April 30th after an incident at Kong Adventure Centre in Keswick. The family is devastated by his loss. On April 22, a 49-year-old individual from Lancaster visited the centre to attend a birthday party.
Mr. O’Keeffe was reportedly present at the Kong Adventure Center in Keswick, located in the Lake District, on Saturday, April 22. He was there to celebrate a family member’s birthday.
It has been reported that Mr. O’Keeffe became trapped in one of the caves after slipping. At approximately 3:00 PM, emergency services were contacted as the rescue center personnel were unsuccessful in their attempts to rescue him.
At the scene, there were teams from Cumbria Fire and Rescue, Police, Keswick Mountain Rescue, Cumbria Mine Rescue, Great North Air Ambulance, and the Northwest Ambulance Hazard Response Team.
According to his family, Mr. O’Keeffe was rescued and taken to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle after four hours. However, they confirmed that he passed away on Sunday, April 30th, at 3:00 pm.
According to a spokesperson from Cumberland Council, they have received information about an incident that occurred at the Kong Adventure Center in Keswick and are currently conducting an investigation as a regulatory body.
According to a spokesman from the Kong Adventure Center, all employees of the center are deeply saddened and shocked by the distressing news.
