A fatal road accident occurred in Compostela town, northern Cebu around 1 p.m. when a public utility bus collided with a motorcycle rider who was traveling in the southbound lane. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. On Monday, May 1, 2023.
According to reports, the motorcycle rider involved in the incident was identified as 23-year-old Anthony Pino Genson, a resident of Barangay Day-as, Cordova. The driver of the bus has been identified as Julian Baran Sontousidad, hailing from Daanbantayan town.
As per police reports, it has been stated that Genson and Sontousidad were traveling in the southbound lane. During their travel, Genson made a left turn and unfortunately got hit by a bus from behind.
The victim reportedly sustained severe physical injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Danao City. However, upon arrival, the victim was pronounced dead.
