Nancy Brost Identified As Drowning Victim In Nekoosa
The identity of the woman who drowned in the Wisconsin River in south Wood County has been revealed as a resident of Nekoosa.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department reported that Nancy Brost, 58, was retrieved from the river on Saturday afternoon, as per a press release.
On April 29 at 12:48 p.m., Wood County Central Dispatch was notified of an individual in the Wisconsin River located north of Wakely Road in the Township of Saratoga.
Brost was brought to shore by the caller. According to first responders, it was determined that she had drowned.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department stated that no further information will be released and there are no suspicious circumstances.
Responders who arrived at the scene included Wood County Sheriff’s deputies, Wood County Sheriff’s Rescue, the DNR, the Nekoosa Fire Department, Saratoga First Responders, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance, Wood County Coroner’s office, the Nekoosa and Port Edwards police departments, and the Biron, Grand Rapids, Port Edwards, and Rome fire departments.
