Lalhruaitluanga Identified As Jail Guard Accidentally Shot To Dead By Colleague

A jail guard has been arrested for allegedly shooting a fellow guard dead in Mizoram’s Serchhip district on Saturday. The incident is being described as tragic.

According to officials, a jail guard named Lalrinthanga, aged 24 and residing in Bawktlang, has been identified as the individual who allegedly used his service gun to shoot at a fellow colleague.

According to reports, the victim has been identified as Lalhruaitluanga, aged 34, and is a resident of Chhingchhip Venglai.

The accused has been arrested, according to reports.

According to official reports, it is suspected that a bullet was loaded into the barrel of the service gun and was accidentally discharged when the magazine was removed.

According to the official, the two individuals were good friends.

According to an official statement, Lalhruaitluanga was scheduled to take over the shift from 2am to 5am at the District jail, where the victim had been on duty since midnight.

Lalhruaitluanga was hit by a bullet when Lalrinthanga went to the barrack and removed the magazine of his gun, causing the gun to fire.

Lalhruaitluanga was taken to Serchhip District Hospital after the incident and unfortunately passed away due to his injury.

A criminal case has been registered against the accused by the police under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
