Chong Lai Ping Identified As Woman Found Dead In Shophouse Fire At Taman OUG

According to reports, a fire broke out at a shophouse located in Jalan Rahmat, Overseas Union Garden (Taman OUG) earlier today, resulting in the death of a woman.

Chong Lai Ping, aged 46, was discovered deceased in a room.

According to a spokesperson from the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department, an engine and nine firefighters were dispatched to the scene after being notified of the incident at 8:43am.

According to him, upon the arrival of the firefighters, the fire had already been put out by civilians. He further stated that the fire only caused damage to the kitchen.

According to him, approximately 10% of the shophouse was affected by the fire and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
