
Nineteen-year-old Cameron Everest Brand has been identified by the police as the only shooter responsible for the deaths of two teenagers at a house party on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Four individuals were also injured in the shooting that took place in the early hours of Sunday, April 30th, 2023, in addition to Brand’s actions.
According to a news release by Bay St. Louis Police Chief Toby Schwartz, the police were able to determine that Brand was the only shooter based on statements from witnesses and victims.
According to the user, Bay St. Louis is located approximately 15 miles (25 kilometers) to the west of Gulfport.
According to the Associated Press, two teenagers have passed away in Hancock County. The identities of the deceased have not been released yet, as stated by Hancock County Coroner Jeff Hair on Sunday morning.
According to Schwartz, Brand was apprehended at his residence in Pass Christian and transported to the detention center. According to Bay St. Louis Municipal Court Judge Stephen Maggio, Brand was denied bail. It is unclear whether Brand has legal representation to speak on his behalf.
According to reports, six students sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to nearby hospitals, with some being airlifted. According to police, two individuals, aged 18 and 16, passed away due to their injuries at a hospital located in New Orleans.
According to reports, two of the individuals affected by the incident are enrolled as students at Bay High School located in Bay St. Louis. According to reports, four students who reside nearby are enrolled at Hancock High School.
The shootings occurred at a residence situated on a road with few inhabitants, located within a distance of one mile from the Hollywood Casino.
