
In Newark, a 2-vehicle accident on Friday night has left a 16-year-old girl in critical condition.
Emergency responders from County Paramedics, Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder, and the University of Delaware’s Emergency Care Unit rushed to the scene at the Library Avenue-Wyoming Road intersection just after 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered six accident victims.
A young girl was found trapped inside one of the vehicles, sustaining multiple injuries.
In a swift operation, rescuers were able to extract her from the scene in just 20 minutes. She was given immediate medical attention on site before being transported to the Emergency Room at Christiana Hospital.
In addition to that, four other individuals were transported to the emergency room, while one person declined medical attention at the location.
The authorities in Newark are currently conducting an investigation into a crash that resulted in the closure of Library Avenue in both directions between Wyoming Road and Farm Lane for approximately 3 hours.
