The victim of a fatal shooting in South Richmond on Thursday night has been identified by police.
Police were called to the Belt Atlantic Apartments at around 9 p.m. following reports of a shooting. The complex is located in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike.
According to reports, Marcus Dobson, 40, was discovered by officers on the scene, unresponsive and with an apparent gunshot wound. According to reports, he was taken to a hospital and passed away later that same Thursday evening.
The official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
