A drive-by shooting in Near South Side Thursday afternoon has resulted in the death of an 18-year-old man.
According to the medical examiner’s office, the victim has been identified as 18-year-old Cameron D. Rayford.
As per the police report, a stolen white Kia approached a car carrying two 18-year-olds and shots were fired. A man was injured when his hand was struck and he was taken to a hospital. At the time of transport, his condition was reported as good.
An 18-year-old was reportedly hit in the body and subsequently transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
An unoccupied Kia was discovered in the vicinity of Cermak Road and State Street.
According to reports, no suspects have been apprehended and law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation into the matter.
