Amaya Jacobs Death: Woman Killed in Caddo Heights Neighborhood Shooting

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s office has identified the woman who was fatally shot in the Caddo Heights neighborhood on Wednesday, just a block away from her residence.

In a tragic incident, 35-year-old Amaya Jacobs, residing in the 5200 block of Kent Avenue, was shot multiple times while driving through the intersection of Fairfax Avenue and Morningside Drive. The incident occurred just before 12:20 p.m. and has left the community in shock.

In breaking news, it has been reported that Jacobs was discovered inside her red SUV, which had come to a halt in the middle of the road. Unsuspecting drivers stumbled upon an SUV and attempted to alert the vehicle by honking their horns, unaware of the situation at hand.

According to a witness, who reported the incident to the authorities, there were bullet holes visible on the driver-side window.

As per the authorities, the weapon used was a .22-caliber. Multiple shell casings were found around the vehicle. According to reports, the vehicle was found to be in drive mode at the time of the incident.

The 26th homicide of the year for Shreveport has been reported with the unfortunate news of Jacobs’ death.
